Rates and Submission Information

We can accept the following types of manuscripts for review:

Articles and Short Stories

$46 (minimum) for up to 3,000 words (approximately twelve double-spaced pages), plus $2 each additional double-spaced page.

Novels and Nonfiction Books

$180 (minimum) for up to 20,000 words (approximately 80 double-spaced pages), plus $2 for each additional double-spaced page (or portion thereof).

Article Query

$46 for query letter (maximum two single-spaced pages) and list of up to five targeted publications.

Book Query

$180 (minimum) for up to 20,000 words (approximately 80 double-spaced pages), plus $2 for each additional double-spaced page (or portion thereof).

Novel Proposal

$200 (minimum) for:

Cover letter (up to two single-spaced pages)
Synopsis (up to ten double-spaced pages)
Sample chapters up to 12,500 words (approximately 50 double-spaced pages)
$2 for each additional double-spaced synopsis or chapter page (or portion thereof)

Nonfiction Book Proposal

$250 (minimum) for:

Cover letter (up to two single-spaced pages)
Overview (up to ten double-spaced pages) including: market research, promotion plan, "about the author," and resources to complete book
Outline, including a one-page list of chapters, plus chapter summaries (up to fifteen double-spaced pages)
Sample chapters up to 12,500 words (approximately 50 double-spaced pages)
$2 for each additional double-spaced Overview, outline or chapter page (or portion thereof) (Word counts and rates apply to each manuscript. Several short manuscripts cannot be combined for the minimum rate)

Submission Guidelines

Please submit your manuscript in the following professional format:

Use one side only of white 8-1/2 x 11 paper.
Double space throughout (unless specified otherwise on rate sheet) and use a standard typeface (Courier or Prestige) in a 12-point size. All four page margins should be 1 - 1 1/4". Underline to indicate italics.
The cover page of the manuscript should include your name and address, title of the work, an estimated word count and your byline (if different from your legal name).
All manuscripts must be printed on a letter-quality printer according to these guidelines.
Submit an original printout or clean photocopy (never submit the only copy of your work).
Include good quality copies of any photographs or illustrations that are part of your manuscript (do not submit original artwork).
